Legal Principles & Decision Making in Practice

Practitioners working with older adults with serious mental health conditions may face situations where they need to navigate the informed consent process, guardianships, advance care directives, and the evaluation of competence and capacity. This self-paced course from the Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research, part of the Boston University School of Social Work, provides an introduction to these scenarios while also discussing associated ethical and legal implications.
