Gary Horwitz

Gary Horwitz started teaching with the Center in 2020 with our Adult Recovery Program. Gary comes from a background of practicing law specializing in the area of mental health.

He has been an integral member of the Flourishing Families program that launched in 2022. The FF program supports parents and caregivers of children with psychiatric conditions. Programming and support is provided via a combination of co-facilitation workshops that teach communication and wellness skills and as well as small group coaching sessions to word toward goal achievements. Gary also co-authored the FF Coaching Manual and lead soaching training sessions for members of the FF program. At the Center’s inaugural Coaching Institute in July of 2025, Gary was a panel speaker, providing training for Family Coaching. Gary has been member of the Center’s Diversity Equity and Belonging task force and committee for several years and was appointed to chair of the committee September of 2024. Gary has also served as a supervisor of undergraduate and graduate interns, holding weekly meetings to discuss teaching experiences and strategies.
