Alexa Trolley-Hanson

PhD Student

Alexa Trolley-Hanson received both her B.S and M.S. degrees in Occupational Therapy from the University of New Hampshire. As a registered and licensed clinician for over twenty years, Alexa has worked in a number of settings including in pediatric and adult mental and behavioral health settings. Alexa also worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the University of New Hampshire’s Occupational Therapy program where she helped develop OT programs in community mental health and recovery centers.

Alexa is currently a PhD Candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences from BU. She works as part of the Research Division at the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation. Alexa’s research interests include developing, testing, and implementing effective psychiatric rehabilitation interventions that help people with serious mental illness. She helped develop the Hopeful and Healthy Living class which is being studied at both the Center and other agencies in Boston. She also helped develop and implement the Navigating Dating and Relationships class that is offered at the Center.

Additionally, Alexa also supervises and mentors student interns in the Services Division and student research volunteers in the Research Division.
