Beginner Winter Hike: Lonesome Lake

Lonesome Lake offers one of the most scenic winter hikes in New Hampshire. This trek offers a gradual climb through serene forest to a frozen lakeshore, where you’ll be rewarded with views of the surrounding peaks dusted in snow. Along the way, you'll learn about winter hiking techniques, layering, and how to be safe when enjoying the winter backcountry. Clothing and equipment can be provided by BU Outdoor Programs upon request. Roundtrip transportation is provided from the BU Fitness and Recreation Center to the trip location.
