Ph.D. Candidate
Brandon’s work studies the political economy of security, finance, and state–business relations. His research investigates how financial market actors comprehend geopolitical risk and the conditions under which private actors support coercive state action. His work also examines how uncertainty and private governance mechanisms shape market behavior and state responses to international crises, with particular attention to the cognitive microfoundations. His research has been supported by Boston University’s Center for the Innovation in Social Sciences, Northeastern’s Center for International Affairs and World Cultures (CIAWC) in partnership with the Carnegie Corporation of New York, as well as the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University.
