Investigating quantum systems, classical materials, and emergent phenomena through experiment, theory, and computation.

Our research examines how matter behaves at its most fundamental level, from the collective properties of materials to quantum effects that emerge under unusual conditions. Faculty and students approach these questions through complementary experimental and theoretical research:

  • Condensed Matter Experiment : Investigating quantum and classical materials through laboratory experiments, advanced measurement techniques, and the development of new physical systems.
  • Condensed Matter Theory: Developing theoretical and computational approaches to understand quantum materials, collective behavior, and emergent phenomena.
