Jim Halverson HET Seminar: Neural Network Field Theory

In this talk I'll introduce a new approach to field theory motivated by ideas from neural network theory. The central idea is to define the partition function of the field theory in terms of a neural network architecture and its parameter space measure. I'll review essential results regarding the origin of free theories, interactions, and symmetries, as well as more recent results like string theory and the universality of the approach.
