Pardee Center partners with OPHI for workshop on “Measuring Freedoms”

The Pardee Center at Boston University will support the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative’s (OPHI’s) summer workshop on “Measuring Freedoms” on May 28-30, 2008. Pardee Center Research Fellow Sujata Visaria will attend the conference.
The overall goal of the workshop is to identify the theoretical strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches to measuring freedoms, to clarify which techniques are most suited for empirical studies, and to chart concrete directions for future research. Presenters at the conference will include: Sabina Alkire, Paul Anand, Tania Burchardt, Stefan Dercon, Indranil Dutta, Enrica Chiappero-Martinetti, Marc Fleurbaey, James Foster, Erik Schokkaert, Sebastian Silva Leander, Martin van Hees.
