Community of Practice

Are you a small yet mighty team, responsible for learning and training at Boston University? Do you want to tap into a network of those who share a similar interest and passion? Do you believe in the power of learning? Then look no further.

Who we are

The Learning & Training Community of Practice (CoP), hosted by the OD&L team, brings together professionals whose roles support learning, training, and development of potential in others. The CoP enables university-wide sharing to further the impact of our efforts in learning and training at Boston University.

What is a community of practice? A CoP is a collaborative network, bound by a shared expertise and interest, that enables peer-to-peer learning, spreads good practices, and partners in driving institutional initiatives relevant to learning and training. The CoP also contributes to furthering professional development, while fostering an environment that promotes workplace engagement.

Why get involved?

  • Learn from your peers, while participating in meaningful networking opportunities with individuals who share your interest and passions. Discover new opportunities for collaboration, trusted counsel, and career advancement.
  • Access resources and good practices designed to support your job and career development as a learning and training practitioner.
  • Leverage collective insights to drive institutional initiatives forward with learning and training.

How to get involved

Events/Meetings

Join us for our regular meetings. We meet virtually every other month to accomplish the following:

  • Connect learning and training professionals across Boston University through networking, knowledge sharing, and meaningful partnerships.
  • Grow knowledge, competencies, and skills in learning and training through examination of a specific topic and/or skill. Identify how practitioners can apply to their roles and scope of work.
  • Engage the community on updates and initiatives as it relates to the Learning & Training CoP.
