Mumtaz Badshah Brown (she/her/hers)

As the Asst. VP of Talent Development, Mumtaz provides vision and strategic leadership to develop and implement robust and holistic systems and programs to support BU staff and faculty to realize their career aspirations while thriving at work.   

Operating as an architect and engineer, Mumtaz leads the reimagination of organizational development & learning at BU, expanding its capacity to advance the development and learning across their career lifecycles.  Using a human-centered approach, Mumtaz focuses on recognizing and elevating the strengths and differentiated experiences of all.   

Mumtaz brings over two decades of experience in organizational development, and her work spans industries and international markets. Training Magazine has recognized her for implementing high-quality learning at scale. 

As an organizational psychologist, Mumtaz brings holistic skills and knowledge to developing systems and programs that have a sound foundation rooted in the understanding of human needs & behavior and how shifting cultural and technological landscape impacts thriving and innovation.  

Mumtaz holds a Master’s in Organizational Psychology from the University of Mumbai, India, and a Master’s in Critical and Creative Thinking from the University of Massachusetts in Boston. She is certified in Inclusive Leadership, Design Thinking, and the GROW Model of coaching.   

Originally from Mumbai, India, she has called Massachusetts home for over 20 years. She lives with her husband, two teenage daughters, and two cats, in Arlington. She is inspired by her travels, stretched by acrylics and digital art, and finds restoration in time spent amongst family and friends.
