MJ Taylor

Graduate Academic Administrator, Department of Chemistry

My academic advisor at the Pardee School was an incredible mentor for me during my undergraduate program, but not everyone has access to that kind of resource. I want to help give back to the BU community by supporting fellow first-generation Terriers in any way I can! I’ve lived, studied, and worked at BU in several capacities since 2018 so I’m familiar with the many different departments and procedures associated with them. I try my best to keep up-to-date about the resources available to students across all of BU’s campuses so I can provide support in a wide variety of circumstances.

  • Personal Facts/Hobbies/Interests: I spend most of my time gardening, painting, singing, and traveling. I inherited a love of the natural world from my grandparents, who taught me to grow virtually anything, from vegetables and herbs to shrubs and trees. Both sides of my family taught me about music and art; my grandfather was a professional painter and several family members were headliners in bands that I always thought were the coolest! I love international travel; so far I’ve been to China, England, and Scotland, but my list of places to go will last a lifetime. I’m the first in my family to move away from the Southeast in recent memory, and while I’ve fallen in love with New England, I’ll always have a soft spot for Southern food.
