While I wasn’t technically a first-gen undergrad – my mom got a degree as an adult learner when I was 10 – I had experiences similar to folks who are first-gen. So, I want to provide the support and help I needed but didn’t have as an undergrad. Also, I’m currently a first-gen grad student at BU. So, this is a great way for me to be part of the first-gen community here at BU.

- Hometown: Seattle, WA
- Business/Industry of Interest: Arts & Humanities
- Personal Facts/ Hobbies/ Interests: I’m currently in a masters program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Wheelock. So, I don’t have much extra free time. I have a son who is in high school who has actually helped me a lot acclimating to studying again. I grew up in Seattle and my whole family is there. Even though I’ve lived in Boston for over 20 years, Seattle still feels like home to me. I’m always happier when I’m on or near the water. I like to hike, run, cook, and do yoga. These things are all more fun when I do them with friends. When I had more free time I wrote short stories and traveled whenever I got the chance.
