Katherine Hennessey
Academic Advisor, Economics, College of Arts and Sciences
I started my career as an ESL teacher in local high schools, where the majority of my students were first-generation immigrants. I saw how for so many of them the transition to college was harder to navigate because the schools assumed a level of familiarity that my students did not have. I became a Terrier Firsts Advocate to help students navigate the “hidden curriculum” and help them find their place at BU. I hope to connect students to the resources and supports they need to make their college experience a success.
