Graduate Programs Manager
I’d like to connect first gen students to BU and outside resources that will help them succeed and hopefully find an easier path. My partner and sibling are first gen college graduates; support and encouragement from outside their family unit were integral to their success. I am a fourth gen college graduate but had no family ties or support, so some challenges were similar. Commonalities were a belief in education as a stepping stone, determination and resourcefulness, finding support and receiving encouragement, managing fear about how to balance costs and employment with academic requirements.
