As a first-generation undergraduate and graduate, I am aware of some of the struggles that first-generation students face. When I think about how my first-generation identity intertwined with my identity as a low-income student and a student with a disability, there were times where I felt lost and out of place. I was really lucky and had amazing supports both as I applied to college and as a student, and because of those experiences, I feel passionate about supporting first-gen students however I can. I have focused my career on supporting first-generation students as they explore education and career, and becoming a Terrier F1RST Advocate will allow me to be a resource of other first-gen students at BU, and that is so exciting to me!

• Personal Facts/ Hobbies/ Interests: Outside of BU, I love finding ways to get outside and to be creative. When the weather is nice, I love going for walks or to the park with my fiancé and our daughter. I have lived in the North Shore for my entire life (minus my time in Maine for my undergrad degree), but I haven’t traveled it much, so I have started planning day and weekend trips with my friends and family to start explore. I love house plants and am trying to build my collection in my office, and the goal is to start a vegetable garden in my yard next summer :) I love having a project to work on and I describe myself as being mediocre at a lot of different arts & crafts – I’ve taught myself to knit, to embroider, to do needle-pint, and I am currently working on a scrapbook. Any travel suggestions or art & crafts tips are MUCH appreciated!!
