As a first-gen PhD student, I know the struggles associated with applying to graduate school, being at graduate school, and navigating a challenging career landscape post-PhD (I was unemployed for a year). I even have experience “mastering out” of my first PhD program and pivoting from environmental engineering to qualitative education research. I became a Terrier F1rsts advocate because I want to pay forward all the support that I received from staff throughout my educational journey.

Personal Facts/ Hobbies/ Interests:
As an undergraduate and graduate student, I struggled to find balance between my own creative pursuits and academics. After sharing these struggles with my peers, I realized I was not alone. These conversations and my passion for integrating the arts with engineering motivated me to study the creative climate of graduate engineering education for my PhD. My dissertation produced a tool for students to assess their own (or potential!) research groups and graduate programs. Additionally, I explored the value of creative life balance and creative skills developed through hobbies. I look forward to helping students assess workplace climates, explore intersectional career paths, and recognize the transferrable skills they have developed through experiential learning (and hobbies!).
Outside of career services, I love running and biking along the Charles River, going camping, cooking international cuisines, playing with my cat Raphina, and making art.
