As a first-generation undergraduate and graduate student, I felt that there was a steeper learning curve since I couldn’t learn from personal experiences from family. This applied to both academic issues as well as tangential issues (eg balancing extensive work study hours with academics in undergrad). I would have loved to have had a support network to help me navigate some of these issues. I would find it extremely rewarding if I could help others in a similar situation.
