Smoke Reported at 700 Albany Street

At around noon today smoke was reported on the ninth floor of the Center for Advanced Biomedical Research building at 700 Albany Street. Due to the research that takes place there, all appropriate emergency responses were taken. While the incident was confined to a very small area, as a precautionary measure all occupants in the building were evacuated without incident. Traffic on Albany Street is being redirected in some places while emergency responders continue their work.

Earlier today, smoke was reported on the ninth floor of the Center for Advanced Biomedical Research at 700 Albany Street at Boston University Medical Center. We are pleased to report that representatives from the Boston Fire Department and the Environmental Health Office of the Boston Public Health Commission have ensured the safety of this building. The Center for Advanced Biomedical Research will open at 5 am on Wednesday, March 21, 2007.
