The Confronting Anti-Black Racism Collection
The Confronting Anti-Black Racism Collection published by PBS Learning Media is a set of curricular materials for students in grades 6-12. PBS, in conjunction with a journalism organisation known as Student Reporting Labs, is now looking to get student responses on video in this important moment, after the death of George Floyd and the ensuing protests for racial justice nationwide.
Teachers can encourage their students to submit videos for this project, and some may be included in a PBS NewsHour Race Matters special report, to come. Amplifying student voices during critical current events is a powerful way to engage students.
PBS Learning Media is one of the lesson planning resources teachers can find through our Social Studies Education research guide.
