BU Wheelock Course Readings
Check out our new Fall 2019 Course Reserve reading lists! The lists offer students and instructors a great way to share important class materials. More than 40 courses are currently using the service.
Records for all physical materials placed on reserve at the Pickering Library are added to these reading lists. But the real benefit of the new technology that powers the lists is the way it provides access to digital materials.
The system connects seamlessly with BU Libraries Search records for pdf articles, eBooks, streaming video, and everything else it offers. Additionally, the platform also allows for file uploads, customized website links, and more.
Readings are arranged into sections such as Week 1, Week 2, etc.; or Required Readings vs. Recommended Readings. The section names can be customized by instructors, and the sections are collapsible, making the interface user-friendly. Materials can be added or removed throughout the semester.
This new system transforms the traditional course reserves service into one that’s built for digital provisioning. It enables the library to process materials faster for copyright compliance. For students, a link to the system is embedded within Blackboard: see Tools > BU Libraries Course Materials. If your course does not have a list, ask your professor to contact the library.
If you have any questions about using this system, or course reserves in general, please contact Pickering Library reserves staff at picklib@bu.edu.
