New Library Reading List Tool

August 9th, 2019

Attention Questrom Instructors:

The BU Libraries recently subscribed to a new Course Reserve management tool called Leganto, which offers several advantages for Questrom instructors and students. Some of the main advantages of using Leganto for creating course reading lists are listed below:

  1. Easy to create, maintain, and reuse class reading lists.
  2. Connects easily with library resources, allowing course materials to be seamlessly delivered to students.
  3. Leganto is very user-friendly and students can easily access reading lists for their classes.
  4. Analytics are available, making it easy to monitor and assess usage of reading lists.
  5. Using Leganto helps avoid copyright infringement. Since the library will be involved, we can help ensure that the most appropriate copy of a resource is being used in your reading lists.
  6. Leganto will eventually be integrated into QuestromTools, making it even more convenient, although we are still working on that.

All materials placed on reserve at the Pardee Management Library are currently being added to Leganto. If you have any articles, book chapters, etc. that you would normally distribute to your students through QuestromTools or any other means, we should generally be able to add it to a reading list in Leganto. There are a few known exceptions, such as Harvard Business School cases (need to purchase those cases as part of a course pack) or Harvard Business Review articles (cannot link to individual articles in Leganto) but otherwise most resources can be added to Leganto, as long as we comply with copyright rules.

If you have any questions about Leganto, or course reserves in general, please contact Pardee Library reserves staff at pardres@bu.edu.
