Inclusive Schools Week is here
December 7th to 11th is Inclusive Schools Week! According to KidsMatter, “In an inclusive community, ‘every face has a place’, every voice is valued and everyone has something to contribute.”
The Inclusive Schools Network sponsors the annual celebration in the United States, and there are similar weeks abroad that happen during different times of the year. See the Inclusive Schools Network website for celebration downloads and ideas for related school activities.
In addition, there are other important online resources to know about as well. A brand new 2015 title, Educator Effectiveness Guidelines for Inclusive Practice, is freely available at the Massachusetts Department of Education website.
The Pickering Educational Resources Library is celebrating inclusion during the month of December, and we have built up our monthly Reference Area display with select library resources, some of which are highlighted below.
