Is Bolsonarismo Dead in Brazil? (11/06/25)

Join us for a presentation by Visiting Fellow Fabrício H. Chagas-Bastos on “Is Bolsonarismo Dead in Brazil?”. His work on Bolsonarismo is ongoing and forms part of a book now in press with Manchester University Press.

Fabrício H. Chagas-Bastos is a research associate professor in the Graduate Programme in Latin American Studies at the University of São Paulo. In the 2025–26 academic year, he holds visiting positions at Boston University’s Centre for Latin American Studies and Umeå University’s Department of Political Science. Additionally, he has been a Visiting Scholar in the Weatherhead Scholars Program at Harvard University. Currently, he is an assistant professor of political science and an EU Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on how non-Western states and individuals engage with formal and informal mechanisms of global governance. At the Pardee Center, he specifically explores the interplay between technological developments and geopolitical strategies, examining their influence on the current and future world order.
