BS, Faculty of Computing and Data Science, Data Science (’26)

Vijay (he/him) is a sophomore in the Faculty of Computing and Data Science (CDS) pursuing a BS in Data Science and a minor in economics. He has been attending IOC events since his freshman year at BU and is excited about the opportunity to get more involved. He enjoys exploring interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving around social issues, especially those incorporating machine learning and data analysis into urban planning and public policy.

Outside of the IOC, Vijay is active in the BU community. He serves as the lead data science student senator, as the vice president of the BU Prison Outreach Initiative, as a student health ambassador with BU Student Health Services, and as a leading member of the BU Student Government Finance Committee, where he oversees negotiations over $2.4m in budget appropriations.

Vijay is from right outside Boston and is passionate about his community. He volunteers in Chinatown, his favorite neighborhood in the city, where he hopes to try every single restaurant before he graduates from BU. He enjoys attending concerts, exploring new parts of the city on his skateboard, and trying out local restaurants!
