- BA, College of Arts & Sciences, Department of Political Science (’25) and Department of Sociology (’25)
Sean (he/him) is a Senior in the College of Arts & Sciences pursuing a BA in Political Science and Sociology. As a burgeoning urbanist and policymaker, he is thrilled to support the IOC’s exploration urban issues, supplementing his education with experience in office work and academia.
Outside of the IOC, Sean is a political organizer for progressive issues in electoral politics and community circles. He has been a part of major electoral gains in New York politics from as young as 17. He helped elect Samra Brouk to the State Senate in 2020, flipping a key Upstate NY district and securing a Democratic supermajority in the upper chamber of the legislature. Sean returned to the campaign as a staffer in 2022 where he helped prove that progressives can not only win upstate, but deliver results and hold their seats. His passion for organizing continues in Boston. He’s held various leadership positions within BU College Democrats, focusing on connecting BU students with the local political landscape and turning out the youth vote. He’s also been fortunate to co-organize protests and calls to action on issues like gun control, divestment, and worker’s rights.
Sean combined his passions for politics and urban issues in City Hall as the Policy Fellow to Boston City Councilor Kendra Lara. In this position, he managed a legislative portfolio centered on utilizing the tools of local government to deliver economic and social justice. Finding his stride in government, he continued this work for State Representative Erika Uyterhoeven of Somerville.
You can find Sean listening to or making music, riding the T, and taking long walks on the esplanade!
