Molly Richard received their PhD in 2023 from Vanderbilt University, in the Community Research and Action department. Dr. Richard’s research aims to inform strategies to prevent and end homelessness. Their current projects focus on how structural inequality contributes to homelessness, and what local and national actors can (and should) do about it. They have a decade of community-engaged research experience and expertise in quantitative and qualitative methods. Their doctoral research was funded by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program, and has been enhanced by partnerships with the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless, Racial Equity Partners, and other policymakers, researchers, advocates, and people experiencing homelessness across the U.S. Dr. Richard joined the Center for Innovation in Social Science in Fall 2023 as an inaugural CISS postdoctoral fellow, working with Dr. Thomas Byrne and Dr. Loretta Lees. Their research examines strategies to prevent and end homelessness.
