Deep Patel was in BU’s Kilachand Honors College and College of Arts and Sciences double majoring in Economics and Political Science. Born and raised in New York City, Deep’s interactions with his local and city level officials in the New York metropolitan area have been instrumental in developing his passion for law and policy-making. He aspires to attend law school upon the completion of undergraduate studies and his policy interests include voting rights, criminal justice reform, environment and sustainability, urban planning, and education reform. Deep currently serves as an undergraduate research assistant at BU’s CERES Institute for Children and Youth and was also one of the inaugural students of University of Miami Law School’s Undergraduate Summer Legal Academy. His work as a Political Affairs intern for the Borgen Project has also helped him cultivate his interest in equity-driven and intersectional legal work. In his free time, Deep enjoys watching American football and basketball, reading books, going on hikes, and learning new languages.
