After the Votes are Counted, What’s Next for America’s Cities?
Nearly two out of every three Americans live in urban areas. Cities are responsible for 75% of the US GDP. Mayors are among the most innovative and creative leaders in politics. And yet, our cities will undoubtedly be impacted by the 2016 Election and the incoming Trump administration.
The Boston University Initiative on Cities invites you to “After the Votes are Counted, What’s Next for America’s Cities?” on Monday, November 14th, 2016, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Boston University office in Washington, DC. What’s Next for America’s Cities will feature presentations and a panel discussion, featuring Jerry Abramson, White House Director of Intergovernmental Affairs and Deputy Assistant to President Barack Obama; Courtney Snowden, Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity in the District of Columbia; and members of our Menino Survey of Mayors research team. IOC Director Graham Wilson will moderate the discussion.
How has the Obama administration worked with and supported cities? How will mayors’ relationship with the White House change with the start of the Trump administration? And what do mayors want most from President-elect Trump? Join us to discuss these questions and more.
