Menino Archive to be Housed at BU
On Tuesday October 27th, the Menino family, alongside Boston University (BU) President Dr. Robert Brown, announced that the official Mayor Thomas Menino Archive would be housed at BU at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center.
The Co-Founder of the Initiative on Cities alongside current Director Graham Wilson, Mayor Menino was instrumental in creating the research and program focus the IOC pursues today. His leadership and guidance was truly invaluable, and his is dearly missed as a boss, colleague, and friend.
The IOC is pleased that future generations of students, political scientists, and historians will be able to access Mayor Menino’s speeches, videos, and photos, and have a window into his life inside and outside of Boston’s City Hall. The first stage of the Menino Archive can be viewed online. A physical exhibit will be unveiled in the coming year.
