Contributors to the Hub

Many members of the BU community contributed to the development of the Hub. Hundreds of faculty and staff were actively engaged in the numerous committees that played a central role throughout the process. Among these committees were the following:

General Education Committee (GEC)

The General Education Committee (GEC) is a standing subcommittee of the University Council Committee on Undergraduate Academic Programs and Policies. It considers and approves courses and cocurricular learning experiences that are proposed for inclusion in the Hub, Boston University’s university-wide general education program.

The Task Force on General Education, 2014-2016

The Task Force on General Education led the BU community in developing a vision for general education: a set of core competencies—knowledge, skills, and habits of mind—to equip BU graduates to thrive in their personal, professional, and civic lives in an increasingly interconnected world.
