PhD Student | history of gender and culture in modern Britain

She/Her

Katie studies gender and culture in modern Britain under the guidance of Professor Chernock. She received her dual B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Vermont (UVM). At UVM she completed an undergraduate thesis titled “The Feminization of the British Monarchy from Queen Victoria to Princess Diana” that investigated gendered representations of royal women in mass media, and their performances of charity, motherhood, and fashion, in particular. In her graduate career, Katie hopes to expand her research interests to explore political culture in the late Victorian and Edwardian eras.
