HISTORY DEPARTMENT GRADE GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE

If you feel you have been unfairly graded in a History course, please begin by discussing your concerns with the instructor and following the instructor’s policy for grade reconsideration. There is no additional appeals process for an individual grade in which the assessment expectations and grading rubric was clearly described, and no appeals process for a final course grade fairly determined by the method of calculating the final grade presented in the course syllabus.

If you believe your grievance rises to the level of arbitrary grading, you may follow BU’s official grade grievance procedure:

https://www.bu.edu/academics/policies/policy-on-grade-grievances-for-undergraduate-students-in-boston-university-courses/

If you follow this procedure, you would need to submit documentation and evidence of arbitrary grading, described in the link above.
