Alyssa is a cultural and environmental historian who draws upon qualitative methods. Her research examines the skies of the North American West, asking how air has functioned as an agent to shape the region. Her scholarship to date has addressed cultural memory in textbooks, intercultural exchange, youth and media, and visual culture.
