Alina Amvrosova entered the program in 2022 after receiving her B.A. and first M.A. in European History from Moscow State University and a second M.A. in Comparative History from Central European University. She studies Soviet cultural and intellectual history under the guidance of Professor Alexis Peri.
Her research explores the intersections of gender, authorship, selfhood, and national identity in the Soviet Union, with a particular focus on women writers and literary culture. Her dissertation examines how Soviet women writers constructed and negotiated gendered, professional, ideological, and national identities across diverse cultural and national contexts.
