Yixin (Amy) Zhang is a second year Biostatistics PhD student at the Boston University School of Public Health. Her current research focuses on statistical genetics, more specifically understanding the genetic and environmental factors leading to Type 2 diabetes and related glycemic traits. Her most recent project uses multi-ancestry sequencing data to study the biological mechanisms underlying cardiovascular disease in participants with Type 2 diabetes. In addition, she is a student representative of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) committee in the Biostatistics department, hoping to utilize her public health expertise to explore various social causes.
