Rabia Tugce Yazicigil is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and Biomedical Engineering (BME) and a Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Information and Systems Engineering (CISE) at Boston University. At Boston University, Yazicigil leads the Wireless Integrated Systems and Extreme Circuits Laboratory (WISE-Circuits Laboratory) which focuses on innovating integrated systems derived at the intersection of analog and radio frequency circuits, signal processing, security, and communications.
Her research interests lie at the interface of custom integrated circuits, signal processing, security, bio-sensing, and wireless communications to innovate system-level solutions for future energy-constrained applications.
Dr. Yazicigil has been an active member of the SSCS Women-in-Circuits Committee since 2016. She has been a Technical Program Committee Member of the IEEE ISSCC since 2019, ESSCIRC since 2019, and the Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC) Symposium since 2023. She was a Technical Program Committee Member of the International Electron Devices Meeting in 2021.
She has received numerous awards, including a National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2024, an Early Career Excellence in Research Award (2024) and Catalyst Foundation Award (2021) from the BU College of Engineering, the “Electrical Engineering Collaborative Research Award” for her Ph.D. research in 2016, the Second Place at the Bell Labs Future X Days Student Research Competition in 2015, and the 2014 Millman Teaching Assistant Award of Columbia University. She served as the Vice Chair for the Rising Stars 2020 Workshop at the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) and is a member of the 2015 MIT EECS Rising Stars Cohort. From 2021 to 2022, she served as a Guest Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Solid- State Circuits of the European Solid-State Circuits Conference (ESSCIRC) Special Issue. She recently presented a lecture at the IEEE ISSCC 2023 Circuit Insights Event and delivered a tutorial on physical-layer security for latency- and energy-constrained integrated systems at the IEEE ISSCC 2023. She serves as an Associate Editor for IIEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems— I: Regular Papers (TCAS-I). She serves on the IEEE Council for RFID Advisory Committee as a Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) Representative.
