Nathan Jones
Associate Professor, Teaching and Learning, Wheelock College of Education & Human Development
In his research, Nathan Jones focuses on teacher quality, teacher development, and school improvement, with a specific emphasis on conceptualizing and measuring teaching effectiveness. He has served as the Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator for multiple research projects funded by the Institute for Education Sciences, the National Science Foundation, the WT Grant Foundation, among others. Jones is affiliated faculty with the Wheelock Educational Policy Center (WEPC). Jones’s research interests include developing measurement tools used to assess teaching quality, identifying effective teacher learning opportunities in initial teacher preparation, and using machine learning to explore new approaches to measuring teaching quality.
