Junior Faculty Fellow (2023) Assistant Professor, Emerging Media Studies

Chris Chao Su is an assistant professor of emerging media studies in the College of Communication and a junior faculty fellow of the Hariri Institute at Boston University. His research focuses on online media audiences, social media analytics, and mobile media use and consumption. Broadly speaking, his research explores how media audiences take shape in an increasingly fragmented digital media environment using computational methods. Dr. Su’s work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Communication, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly, Digital Journalism, and New Media & Society. He won many awards for his scholarship, including the Michael Pfau Outstanding Article Award and the top student/faculty papers (ICA, AEJMC, NCA, CCA).
