Andrew Fitzpatrick
Associate Professor of Physics
Andrew Liam Fitzpatrick received his B.S. in physics and mathematics at the University of Chicago, and his Ph.D. in physics at Harvard University, followed by postdoctoral positions at Boston University and Stanford University. He joined the BU Department of Physics as a faculty member in 2015.
He has been interested in applications of quantum field theory across many areas, including cosmology, astrophysics, materials, and the search for Beyond the Standard Model physics. His present research is mainly focused on using the conformal bootstrap to learn about quantum gravity in three dimensions through the AdS/CFT correspondence.
