Sponsored Research
Sponsored research at the Hariri Institute enables companies to collaborate directly with faculty and research teams to address complex scientific and technological challenges. These partnerships support targeted, curiosity-driven, and applied research that advances shared goals and explores new directions where solutions may not yet exist in the commercial landscape.
Projects are led by world-class investigators and can range from focused, single-lab efforts to larger, interdisciplinary collaborations across Boston University. Through these engagements, sponsors gain access to cutting-edge expertise, advanced research environments, and innovative approaches at the forefront of computing, AI, and computational science.
Sponsored research agreements are administered through Boston University’s Office of Sponsored Programs, ensuring projects are structured to support both academic integrity and meaningful collaboration. Depending on the agreement, sponsors may receive options or preferred rights to negotiate licenses for resulting intellectual property, supporting a pathway from discovery to potential commercialization.
