We want to thank the over 335 students, faculty, staff and alumni who shared nearly 800 photos of their adventures across 69 countries and 23 U.S. states. Nearly every BU school and college was represented, including students from other universities who are currently participating in a BU Study Abroad Program. It has been such a pleasure seeing all of the amazing places the BU community has been and the diversity of experiences we have had. Description: The Shanghai program’s weeklong excursion to Guilin and YangShuo allowed me to experience China’s natural beauty and a much needed change of pace from the bustling city of Shanghai.

Alicia-Quach-SAR-Vashisht

Description: A street performer in Vashisht is filled with passion as he delivers a zealous speech – attracting the attention of everyone around him as he works hard to make a living. According to the owner of the German bakery (menu seen in the back), he performs daily and never fails to make money. I did not understand a single word he said, but in that moment it didn’t matter because he connected the crowd together in amusement and delight.

Hailey-Hart-Thompson-CAS-ZermattName: Hailey Hart-Thompson

Description: Lying in the shadow of the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps, the small unmarked house is nestled in the snowy peaks. While taking the photo, I’d have to wait every few minutes or so for the clouds to glide away to reveal the mountains. Remaining in the bowl just below the Matterhorn, the monstrous peak and those surrounding it would reveal itself. After a few shots of the mountains themselves, the small bright yellow house popped into my view finder and I was able to snap this shot before the clouds covered the peaks again. The house itself evokes so much interest as I never found out exactly who had built it or why it was hidden away in the depths of the Swiss Alps.
