  1. Tell us about your BU experience and how did it shape who you became as a professional? What is the experience that sticks out as being the most beneficial?

My time at BU was amazing. I learned so much from my professors and my classmates. I also had the opportunity to work on some really cool projects. One of my favorites was a research project about developing AI models to help Alzheimer’s disease patients at the Paschalidis lab. It was great to apply my academic knowledge in a research team setting and contribute to the greater good of society.

After I graduated from BU, I got a job as a software engineer at Google. I’ve been working here for 6 months now, and I’m happy with my job. I love working on challenging problems and learning new things. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to work with some of the smartest people in the world.

I think my experience at BU has shaped me into the professional that I am today. I learned so much about problem solving and critical thinking, but I also learned a lot about myself. I learned that I’m capable of doing hard things, and I learned that I love to learn. I’m really grateful for my time at BU, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

  1. How did you decide what to do after finishing your degree at BU?

I decided to join Google Global Networking after graduation because I was looking for an organization that was at the forefront of technology and innovation. I wanted to be a part of a team that was making a difference in the world, and I believe that Google is doing just that.

I was also impressed by the company’s culture of collaboration and innovation. I knew that I would be able to learn and grow at Google, and I was excited to be a part of such a dynamic and supportive environment.

  1. Do you have any general recommendations/reflections on networking and employment that you would like to share with international students?

Start early. It can take longer to find employment with a company that will sponsor employees who need work visas.

Research companies you are interested in working for. Make sure they are willing to sponsor international students before you apply for a job.

Network with other international students and professionals in your field. This can help you find job opportunities and get advice on the job search process.
