Boston University Children’s Center

About Us

The Children's Center has been providing high-quality early education and care to families of the Boston University community since 1978. For over 40 years, our program was located near West Campus and consisted of one large family-style classroom serving 33 children ages 2 through 5. In 2020, the Center moved into a beautifully renovated historic Tudor Revival mansion in the Cottage Farm neighborhood of Brookline and began serving children from infancy through the start of Kindergarten.

At the Center, we strive to create an early education environment that feels like an extension of home. Our program is grounded in Emergent Curriculum, where children's interests and experiences guide their learning. We draw from well-respected approaches, including Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Constructivist practices, to support children as active participants in their own growth and discovery.

Through a close partnership with families, we provide the highest-quality education and care, fostering a supportive community where children, families, and educators learn, grow, and thrive together.
