PhD Student Achievements: Congrats to Matt, Francois, and Sara!

We are excited to announce these wonderful recent achievements of 3 of our PhD students here at BU Econ!

1. Matthew Johnson received a Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Disability Policy Research from the National Bureau of Economic Research. The 1-year fellowship will support Johnson’s research projects on workplace safety and health. IThe fellowship includes invitations to and travel support for the NBER’s Summer Institute meetings on Aging and Health Care in Cambridge and the NBER’s annual Disability Policy Research conference in Washington, DC. Congratulations on this exciting opportunity, Matt!

2. François Guay has received a fellowship from the Hariri Institute for Computing and Computational Science to support his joint research with Gustavo Schwenkler in the Department of Finance at the Questrom School of Business. The fellowship is part of the Hariri Institute’s inaugural Graduate Fellows Program. Congratulations to Francois, and we look forward to seeing your work! Read more about the Hariri program.

3. Sara Machado received a prize from the Spanish Health Economics Association Conference for the best oral presentation at the conference. Her presentation was on her research, which examines subsidizing blood donations. Congratulations Sara, and thanks for representing the BU Econ community so incredibly well!
