2023-24 Learn More Series Theme: Indigenous Identities and Experiences
March 13, 2023 — Boston University Diversity & Inclusion (BU D&I) is proud to announce our Learn More Series theme for the 2023-24 academic year: Indigenous Identities and Experiences.
Each year, we dedicate ourselves to examining a single topic of social importance through our Learn More Series. This signature series invites us to stand in solidarity with equity-deserving communities and challenges us to better understand the history and lived experience of these communities in their full complexity. The series has evolved to include keynotes, panel discussions, art installations, film screenings, community read-a-louds, and many other components.
Another key component of the series? You! BU Diversity & Inclusion offers grant funding to support faculty, staff, and students in creating community, building capacity, and exploring research related to each year’s theme. This year, the Learn More Series has two grant funding streams: Learn More Research Grants and Learn More Community Grants.
About the Learn More Grants
Learn More Research Grants provide up to $5,000 in funding to BU faculty members to support high-impact research on social issues related to the year’s theme. Through these grants, BU D&I supports the work of scholars seeking to advance equity and justice in any academic domain. Click here to read more about the Learn More Research Grants and application process.
Learn More Community Grants provide between $1,000 – $3,000 in funding to students, staff, and faculty who wish to take a deeper dive into the year’s theme, either by hosting programs and events open to the campus community, or by organizing smaller learning communities, such as book clubs or study groups. Learn More Community Grants are open to any proposals that previously fell under the Learn More Together category (small learning communities) or the Learn More Programming category (programs open to the campus community).
