BU D&I Restructure Announcement
May 31, 2022—Since spring 2022, BU Organizational Development & Learning has been shifted to report directly to Human Resources with a dotted line reporting to the Associate Provost for Community & Inclusion. To strengthen and clarify this new reporting structure, BU Diversity & Inclusion (BU D&I) has created the BU D&I Director of Educational Programming Initiatives (DEPI) position.
The new DEPI consolidates the former BU D&I Director of Programs and BU D&I Director of Learning and Training positions. One of the goals of this restructuring is to better integrate the vision and purpose of BU D&I’s programming and training offerings. Under the new DEPI, there will be a new team of staff who will carry out the strategic educational programming vision of D&I which includes programming and training. In addition to BU D&I hiring additional staff to strategize, conceptualize, and lead ongoing DEI trainings and programming on campus, Organizational Development & Learning (OD&L) will also hire a new staff person in the future who will work closely with the newly formed BU D&I Educational Programming team. With this new restructure, OD&L and BU D&I will be further united in delivering diversity education training to the faculty, staff, and student communities of BU.
