It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (OMFR) at Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Our department is dedicated to excellence in education, patient care, and research, with a strong commitment to advancing the field of diagnostic imaging in dentistry.
Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is a dental specialty dedicated to the interpretation and clinical application of dental and medical imaging of the jaws, face, and related structures. Through advanced imaging technologies and expert radiologic consultation, we support accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning across all dental specialties.
Established in 2023, the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology is dedicated to the didactic and clinical education of predoctoral students and residents. The department provides comprehensive diagnostic imaging services that are essential for the evaluation and management of dental, oral, and craniofacial conditions.
Our services include advanced three-dimensional imaging such as cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), panoramic and cephalometric imaging, intraoral radiography, digital image analysis, and radiologic consultation. We support all clinical and academic departments within the school, ensuring a high standard of education and the delivery of accurate, high-quality diagnostic services to optimize patient care.
In addition, our faculty actively mentors dental students and residents in research endeavors and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. The department remains engaged in scholarly activities through conferences, invited lectures, and collaborative publications, contributing to the advancement of oral and maxillofacial radiology at both national and international level.
About
The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology was created in 2024, enhancing GSDM’s national reputation and help align the university with peer institutions. The department will enhance the exposure of students to the field of oral and maxillofacial radiology students at both pre- and postdoctoral levels.
