HSDA Navigates Dance Steps and New Friendships
The BU Chapter of HSDA kicked off the 2011-2012 academic year with a fun outing to the Blackstone Community Center Park to salsa dance. The “Salsa in the Park” event, on August 22, was part of a series, hosted by local dance company, Metamovements, on summer Mondays. The lessons are free and for people of all age and skill level and are located just a few blocks from the Dental School.
About 15 students from GSDM, along with Assistant Dean of Students Dr. Joseph Calabrese and Manager of Student Affairs Erica Manczuk, attended.
“We had a great turnout and students from all the different classes joined us for the salsa dancing event,” said HSDA President Fransheska Ovalles DMD 13. “It was a lot of fun and this is an event the HSDA will continue to have every summer so students can get to know each other in such an interactive and enjoyable way.”
