Days of Service
Program Overview:
Join us for our Days of Service program, where volunteers come together to serve local communities through meaningful weekend service projects. Each experience closes with a guided reflection, giving participants the opportunity to reflect, share observations, and deepen their understanding of the communities they served as well as the impact of their work.
Days of Service opportunities are offered throughout the semester, so you can choose the dates that best fit your schedule. Sign up for our mailing list to be notified when applications open!
Join Our Volunteer Orientation!
Before participating in any days of service throughout the year, all volunteers must attend a foundational training. Training sessions are held once a month and can be attended in person or virtually. You only need to attend one session! Please email sliccube@bu.edu for more details.
Days of Service Chairs:
Serving as a Days of Service chair is an excellent way to take on a low-time commitment leadership role while learning more about our community partners across the Greater Boston area!
Our Days of Service chairs are student leaders who have a passion for community service and social justice. They prepare volunteers by introducing the principles of ethical service and providing context about the community partner and the organization’s mission before each service experience. Chairs are also responsible for ensuring the safe transport of volunteer groups from campus to the site and back using their given transportation budget. They then lead a short reflection activity with volunteers about their focus area in relation to the wider city at the end of the service experience.
Applications for Fall 2026 will be opening soon!
