Days of Service

Program Overview:

Join us for the refreshed Days of Service program! This year, volunteers choose to attend one of two dynamic service orientation sessions that fits their schedule. Each 1-2 hour session will start with a presentation on learning service, the ethics of service, best practices and an opportunity to intentionally form connections with other volunteers prior to service.   We round off the experience with a reflection portion where volunteers integrate the coming to terms with service, observations and a deeper understanding of their experience. We will have service opportunities in January, Febuary, March, and April.  Register now!

Before participating in any days of service throughout the year, all volunteers must attend a foundational training. You only need to attend one session! Here are the upcoming dates:

  • More updates with dates will come up later in August-September.

Days of Service Chairs:

Serving as a Days of Service chair is an excellent way to take on a low-time-commitment leadership role in the Community Service Center while learning more about our community partners across the Greater Boston area. DoS chairs are student leaders who have a passion for community service, education, and social justice. They educate their cohort on the CSC’s principles of ethical service and the community partner they will be working with that day. Chairs are responsible for ensuring the safe transport of volunteer groups from campus to the site and back using CSC funding and/or transportation. DoS chairs are also expected to lead a short reflection activity with volunteers about their focus area in relation to the wider city.
